Hold on, let me warn you…this one is a bit of a rant.
It is the Fourth of July, Independence Day here in the USA. I am listening to fireworks pop all around me.
I appreciate freedom…my rights as an American and my freedom in Christ. I understand what it took to become a nation and I love to celebrate.
Here is where we take a turn…
It is hard to celebrate when the government is trying to decide if we let children be born.
It is hard to celebrate when we spend enough on fireworks and party favors that get thrown away to feed thousands of hungry children living on the streets.
It is hard to celebrate when our country is being slightly distorted with half truths.
God Bless the USA.
RRRGHGH!! That is how I feel about that. I get so frustrated when I can not get online, especially when my plans include research.
We have been ‘battling’ a few weeks with our internet connection. It comes on, goes off, comes on for 10 seconds, goes off again and sometimes even has all the ‘right’ lights blinking, but still no connection….thanks Verizon!
I gave up and came to my home computer where I can connect online and write this blog.
It was frustrating trying to communicate and find what I needed with no connections…I almost felt lost. Then, I thought about it. When we are disconnected from God, do we feel as lost as we do without our electronics?
Look what Colossians says in verse 19 of chapter 2: “They have lost connection with the head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.”
We can only grow when we are fully connected to the head…God in his fullness!
May all your daily connections come with God’s WiFi (Winning, Influencing, Finding, Involving). Others may be lost, but you can show them the real connection.
Yesterday I was reading a book on my computer screen. When I looked up I saw pixels on everything. (Pixels are the little squares that make up pictures on your computer screen.)
It was weird to see a smooth object with little squares over the surface of it.
I thought to myself, I wondered, “If I looked that intently into God’s word, would I see the world more like God does?”
James 1:25 says, “But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.”
May your world be God-pixeled today.
