Connect through the heart and you will win raving fans for your business.
People buy from who they know, like and trust. As an entrepreneur, you want to be someone who can be trusted. You want to show your potential customers why they should buy from you. The best way to do that is to connect with them on a deep emotional level.
I am not talking about crying on a video or sharing horrible personal experiences. I am talking about sharing from the heart. People want to see that an entrepreneur is a real person.
Here’s an interesting thought: People buy from people, not from companies.
People will buy, not because of your company, but because of the people of your company. Studies have shown that a large majority of customers leave a company due to ‘apathy.’ (I believe the number is 68%.) They did not feel either good or bad about a company. They did not have any loyalty.
On the other hand, customers that feel valued will become raving fans. They will tell the world about you and how you have changed their lives. They will become a walking billboard who creates other walking billboards.
Ask yourself, am I presenting who I am in a way that allows customers to feel like they can know, like and trust me?
We have talked about sharing your story in a previous article. When you share stories, don’t be afraid to share your challenges, problems and outcomes. People relate to people who fail and still overcome. There is something wired in our brain that helps us connect to people who struggle. We always want others to win.
When people relate with the heart, they connect deeply. They can become loyal if you can find a way to build rapport with them. Here is where the power of your story comes in: they relate to your win!
People love connecting to stories of struggle, but they want to see the win. When someone wins, there is a trigger that happens in our brain and it tells us we can succeed. It also makes us feel like we can trust this person. People feel like they can trust you when they see what you have overcome.
That brings us to your strengths. What is it about you that overcomes struggles? What wisdom, motivation, or drive keeps you going during those hard times?
Show your strengths in everything you do. When you share your story or even when creating a marketing piece for your company, put your strengths up front. People want to see what has made you strong because inside them they want to feel strong. People connect with the heart.
Here is a truth to remember: You are the only you in this world, and this world needs you.
As an entrepreneur, you can make a difference in someone’s life. You may have the one word or the one sentence that changes someone’s life.
As an entrepreneur, instead of looking for the next project, look for the next life you can change. If you focus on the lives you can change, the opportunities and the profits will follow.
What is it that makes you strong? Share it with our community on my Youtube page or GooglePlus page. When you share on our pages, you are sharing with people who may need to hear your story. You may impact someone’s life by leaving a simple comment.
I hope you take action towards impacting someone’s life for the better TODAY!
